Welcome to the Hurricane Harbor section of SFNE Central.

Hurricane Harbor is Six Flags New England's waterpark. Debuting in 1998 under the name of Island Kingdom, it quickly became a hit with guests to the park. However, it was small and crowded, featuring only Big Kahuna, Cannonball Falls, Commotion Ocean, Hook's Lagoon, and Swiss Family Toboggan. However, Riverside expanded Island Kingdom in 1999 to include Shark Attack and Hurricane Bay.

Still not feeling like Island Kingdom was big enough, Six Flags New England expanded it once again in 2003. This was a big one. The park added an astounding 9 slides and a hybrid wave pool/interactive play area. These additions included Tornado, a first of its kind funnel slide by ProSlides. Along with the new additions came a new name: Hurricane Harbor. The entrance was also moved to the south end under Batman: The Dark Knight.

Six Flags New England continued its Hurricane Harbor expansion frenzy in 2005 with the addition of yet another ProSlide innovation: Typhoon. Typhoon's green and black structure traverses a majority of Hurricane Harbor's border and uses high-speed conveyor belts to launches rafts up inclines.
